That is a photo, but it’s a photo of the shadow KC cast as she sat in the front window. I didn’t have time to grab the tripod so it was underexposed, hence the noise from altering levels and sharpening in PhotoShop. I’d prefer it sharp, I think, but I like it well enough this way.
Love it — and I particularly like it grainy. It’s wonderfully Japanese in feel…

Funny you should mention it — Cat pointed out the shadow in the first place, saying it looked like a Japanese print on silk or linen.
I think that haiku needs a kigo. The leaves might provide an opening for one; it’s Autumn here.
But then, you might not see the leaves — it depends on your screen. I processed the photo at home on a flat LCD screen, and now that I’m looking at it on an older CRO screen it’s very dark, with almost no shadow detail in the upper right corner (where the leaves are, or should be) at all.
I like it grainy too–it has a wonderfully painterly feel.
This is a great photo. I love all the photos you’ve posted, actually. You have a great eye, and do a fantastic job of capturing your subject.
